Greetings from my Purrfect Maine Coons

Meet my Maine Coons:
  • Maverick, Black Smoke, (only) Stud cat
  • Phoenix, Black Smoke, current Queen
  • Bleubelle, Blue Smoke, current Queen
  • Sylvie, Black Silver Torbie, current Queen
  • Bella, Black Smoke, summer 2021 Queen
  • *Duchess, Blue Smoke Poly, future Queen early 2022

  • I love these amazing cats! They follow me around the house, they love to lounge in bed with us, they are very intelligent and affectionate too. Maine Coons have such wonderful dispositions besides their stunning looks.

  • Our Maine Coons have Champion lines, TICA Registered, and DNA Health Tested parents for Cystinuria; SCL7A9 mutation: c.881A>T, Erythrocyte Pyruvate Kinase (PKD) Deficiency, Factor XII Deficiency, Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (MYBPC3 mutation: A31P found in Maine Coon -- HCM),  Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA)/Spinal Muscular Dystrophy, Blood-brain Barrier Dysfunction, MDR1 / ABCB1.

  • Our kittens go home with 1st vaccinations and vet exam, TICA pet-papers, socialized with our family, litter box trained, toys, food, and a Two Year Health Contract.

  • I keep my, 'Riggs Maine Coon Cattery', Facebook fan-page updated with current pictures and videos of my adults and client updates.

  • Size: This is a large cat with a long and lean build. They have a noticeably longer body than other cats, with a distinct look of their own. Once you see a pure Maine Coon in person, you realize that these cats aren't outside or running streets, they are very distinct looking with a super long body, head, muzzle, and size.  Maine Coons are kept safely inside the home, by responsible owners, who cherish the breed--and these cats aren't outside creating mixes (this would be very rare).

Most Maine Coons weigh 9 to 18 pounds (males are typically larger than females), and some tip the scales at 20 or more pounds (responsible breeders do NOT breed the over-sized Maine Coons, it causes them multiple health issues). My stud is larger than the standard weight but he is healthy at 22 pounds. My females are also larger and exceed the standard for a female but without compromising health. They don't reach their full size until they are three to five years old.  Males 13 – 18 lbs (Adult), Females: 7.9 – 12 lbs (Adult). The adult coat comes in around two years old. Fifty percent of house cats are over weight, these weight ranges are based on lean and healthy weights. All my Maine Coon females/queens are over 13 pounds, so they are on the larger size range for a female of this breed.
